CLEMATIS:
Clematis can be trained to grow on trellis, fence, through trees and shrubs, along pergolas or any where you like!
As a rule of thumb, Clematis grow well where Roses grow well. They are also an excellent combination! In fact, clematis intermingle well with many plants -trees & shrubs, especially if they can be used for climbing.
Heads in the sun, roots in the shade: clematis like their roots to be cool and protected. In exposed areas, this can be achieved by mulch, or using other plants to shield the roots from sun. Clematis should be fertilized ( rose fertilizer works well! Fertilize every 3 months or so when actively growing). Give them well drainage. The longer they are established, the more generous they become!
